Plot Summary: A small mining town is being ruled by mean bikers, but they are in cahoots with Diana.. A woman escapes to get our heroes to help the town, but she turns out to be a no good double crosser.. Bates has Mr Chiang steal a computer disk from Julie’s house, but she has it switched before he looks at it.. Plot: The citizens of Rawlinsville are being forced to work in a local cobalt mine by Garrison and his biker cohorts.. Trapped in their neighborhood behind chain link fence and barbed wire, Garrison forces them to work for Diana.. However, it is not the Visitors who are in charge of Rawlinsville, because the town is above the frost line in the Red Dust contaminated zone.. But the Visitors need the cobalt to power the Visitor weapons and is in high demand for the assault on Earth.. Garrison has a deal with Diana; she’ll pay one gold bar for each ton of cobalt he delivers.. He and his gang work the townsfolk relentlessly, eager to make their first shipment.. When one of the citizens protests that another cannot work, he is allowed to go free – and shot in the back as he runs through the open gates.. A feisty woman, Glenna, uses this as a diversion to steal one of the motorcycles and escape from the town in search of the Resistance.. Aboard the Mothership, Visitor medic named Kenneth, a priest and follower of Zon, secretly activates a signaling device to speak to a holographic Amon, the high priest of Zon.. Kenneth, the Visitor, confesses a killing to Amon, who offers compassion and promises that the time will soon come for his arrival to deliver the Visitors.. Kenneth recites the covenant, ” Xon is the cause for which I would die, but there is no cause for which I would kill,” but is soon attacked by a group of Visitor guards.. On the bridge, Lydia expresses her concern over the lack of cobalt for Visitor ground forces and blames Diana.. Diana is unconcerned and orders that Kenneth be brought to her quarters.. Glenna makes her way to the Club Creole looking for Elias Taylor, because she knows he used to be part of the Resistance and knows he can help her in locating the Resistance.. He is skeptical of her story at first, but after proving that she is not a Visitor by slicing her palm with a knife, he soon agrees that the Resistance must help liberate her town.. Elias brings her to Mike and Ham, who keep their faces in shadow while they question her.. By a vote of 2 – 1 ( Ham is the dissenting vote ) they decide to aid the town.. Elizabeth joins them despite Kyle Bates’s objections.. At Science Frontiers, Julie Parrish shows Nathan Bates her progress on isolating the cobalt power source of the Visitor sidearm.. Bates mentions his suspicions about a mole providing information to the Resistance on the details of his munitions shipments, and all but accuses her of being the spy, as he would never accuse her … without proof.. Of course, she is indeed making copies of the diskettes that contain Bates’s shipping schedules and is able to send Mike a coded message from Science Frontiers to inform him of Nathan’s next munitions shipment.. When another munitions van is ambushed that evening, Bates tells Mr Chiang to find the proof needed to pin Julie.. On a downtown street in Los Angeles, the Resistance is able to use Julie’s information to raid another munitions truck to get explosives with which to blow the cobalt mine.. Willie, dressed as a woman, shoves a baby carriage in front of the oncoming truck.. While he wails about his ” baby,” Mike and Ham arrive in a stolen police car and the three men steal the munitions truck.. When Nathan gets the report, he authorizes Mr Chiang to obtain proof that Julie is the traitor.. Garrison visits Diana on the Mother Ship, and he informs her that he wants to change their deal to triple the amount of gold paid for each ton of cobalt.. Diana isn’t happy about it, but they make arrangements for the first delivery.. Before Garrison leaves, Diana shows him something in case he might decide to back out of the deal.. Diana reveals a sand – filled cell where Kenneth is captive and forces Garrison to watch while Kenneth is fed to a crivit as a warning to Garrison about reneging on a deal.. Garrison is visibly shaken.. ( Unlike in Breakout, the crivit shown in this episode does not feature a dorsal fin, but instead appears green and spiny ).. Back on Earth, Mr Chiang breaks into Julie’s apartment and finds a floppy disk hidden in a desk.. Robin begins complaining to Julie about her life – and Julie lets all her frustrations out on Robin, especially about Robin’s constant complaints and self – indulgence.. Robin runs out, and Julie hides the latest computer disk that she has taken from Bates’ office.. When Robin returns later to apologize to Julie, she discovers Mr Chiang searching Julie’s apartment, and is able to warn Julie, who discovers that the disk is missing.. Ham, Elias, Mike, and Kyle plan the attack on Rawlinsville with Glenna.. Elizabeth demands to go along but is overruled by Kyle in his zealousness to protect her.. Kyle, however, is overruled himself by Mike.. Elias, meanwhile, sets up a date with Glenna for after the raid.. The Resistance members head into Rawlinsville by raft.. When Kyle and Elizabeth are briefly separated from the others, Elizabeth confesses her love for Kyle and tries to explain to him why she felt that she had to go along.. Kyle has a deeper understanding of Elizabeth.. Later, Diana is dressed in slinky evening wear when an Ensign named Daniel drops in.. He’s been investigating Amon’s transmission, and he reports that they’ve lost the signal, but the source seems to be getting closer.. Diana flirtatiously invites him to dine with her, and they share an intimate feast of goldfish, mice, tarantulas, and other assorted delicacies.. At Science Frontiers, Mr Chiang inserts the computer disk that he stole from Juliet’s apartment and confirms that it contains information on the munitions shipments.. While waiting to show the disk to Nathan Bates, Robin Maxwell shows up disguised as a cleaning woman enters the room and begins cleaning the desk as she swaps the diskette with a fake one.. He orders her to leave.. When Julie is brought into the office to be accused of treason, Mr Chiang loads the disk in front of her and Nathan.. Once loaded the disk reveals only Julie’s tax return.. Juliet is indignant and slaps Nathan while dishing out some harsh words before storming away.. While down the hall Robin slips out of her cleaning woman disguise and sneaks out.. In Rawlinsville, the team consisting of Ham, Mike, Kyle, Elizabeth, Elias, and Glenna have holed up in an empty storefront and are ready to make their move, but they need a diversion to distract one of Garrison’s guards.. Mike mentions that a diversion will be needed to overpower the guard, so Elizabeth heads outside despite Kyle’s belated attempt to stop her.. Elizabeth provides one using her feminine wiles ( Accompanied by pickup lines she learned from television ) to lure the guard away from his post, where he is knocked unconscious by Mike and Ham.. Glenna frees her associates from the town jail and sets out for the back entrance of the mine.. Meanwhile, Ham, Mike, Kyle, and Elias take care of the other guards and then confront Garrison at the mine.. Garrison tries to get away, but Glenna and her men have him trapped when they cut of his escape through the mine.. Garrison makes a move for Glenna, and she guns him down in cold blood.. Elias is shocked when she forces the Resistance fighters to drop their weapons — it was a setup all along! She’s now in control and plans to deliver the cobalt in Garrison’s place.. Plus, she’s expecting a bonus for delivering Donovan and the others.. Glenna contacts Diana and makes plans to deliver the cobalt and the Resistance members that afternoon in a non contaminated area.. Diana instructs Ensign Daniel to send a hyper light cable message to the Leader informing him that the L.A. Resistance has been crushed and that the Visitors have Elizabeth.. The Resistance members are locked in the Rawlinsville jail, where Elias is despondent about Glenna.. Ham, however, has planned for all eventualities – he has hidden some explosives in his boots, and blows the door to the cell.. The freedom fighters are spotted as the make their escape, and a gunfight ensues in the town square between them and Glenna’s people.. When Elias sees Glenna running towards a garage, he follows her and is forced to shoot her when she attempts to ride out with a Visitor laser rifle.. With the Resistance now out of ammunition, the bikers come out from behind their barricades just as Elias fires the laser rifle into the street.. They retaliate and he is shot in the side – the Resistance members use this to jump out and attack the bikers.. While most are knocked out, one gets the bead on Kyle with a rifle – and Elizabeth uses her powers to open a car door behind the biker, knocking him out.. Ham, who is leaning against the car, stares at the door incredulously.. Elias manages to stop the cobalt truck before collapsing.. They destroy the cobalt shipment as well as the mine itself, and the towns folk are set free.. While waiting at the rendezvous point, Diana is informed that the mine has been destroyed.. Before leaving, she pulls out a laser pistol and kills Ensign Daniel, because ” someone has to pay for misinforming the Leader..” In Rawlinsville, Elias is patched up by the local doctor while the townspeople tear down the fences and barbed wire that has surrounded their homes.. Blooper Details: When Garrison shoots the man running from the town, his first shot hits the street and the second shot hits a parked car.. Yet the man falls dead to the ground! During the firefight with the bikers, the Resistance shoot at a sniper on the roof.. The bullet hits the edge of the roof, yet the sniper falls as if shot.. During the scene where the alien Visitor is pray to Zion, he tears away the flesh from his chest.. When the scene keeps cutting back to him, the amount of flesh torn away changes.. When the bikers come out from behind their barricades, they are still holding their weapons.. Yet when the Resistance members jump them, there are suddenly no guns anywhere to be seen! ( Guess it wouldn’t have been a very good fight if the bikers just pulled out the guns and shot everyone!! ) The set used for the town of Rawlinsville is the same set used for the town of Hazard County in The Dukes of Hazard.. The Resistance escaped from the same jail as the Duke Boys! The crivit shown in this episode looks nothing like the one shown in ” Breakout..” Trivia: The disk containing Julie’s tax return data reveals that she lives at 518 West First Street Los Angeles, and she made $25,000 in that year.. After itemized deductions of $7,000 and a surplus of withheld taxes, she is due a refund of $800.. Robin: What?
Juliet: Yeah … I’m tired of a whimpering, self – pitying child who continually puts her own needs in front of everybody else’s..
Garrison: Who in the hell are you?
Mike: I’m the man who’s gonna make you wish you never asked that question!
Kyle: I tried to tell you this wasn’t such a good idea..
Elizabeth: I’m here because I wanna be..
Kyle: What are you trying to prove?
Elizabeth: That I’m not some freak! Some ‘thing’ that you and the others have to protect!
Kyle: What?!
Elizabeth: I love you! If you’re out there risking your life for me, I wanna be there.. I might be able to help..
Ham: This is my last clip.. And that cobalt truck’s coming down the road any minute.. You got any ideas?
Mike: I was kinda hoping for the cavalry myself..
