ABC‘s V is getting ” Chuck “ – ed.. Chuck Executive Producer, Scott Rosenbaum, has inked a two – year overall deal with the series producer Warner Bros. Television..
As part of the seven – figure pact, Rosenbaum will take over the reins of V, WBTV‘s freshman series for ABC, as executive producer / showrunner when the drama resumes production on the rest of its 13 – episode order..
Original showrunner Scott Peters has been bumped over by Chuck alum Scott Rosenbaum, ABC confirmed..
V, which has enjoyed strong pre – launch fan interest and solid reviews, went on hiatus after shooting the first four episodes, which The V Files has heard wrapped up last Thursday.. They will start airing tonight and end with a cliffhanger before the show, a reimagination of the 1980s mini – series, returns in the spring..
The showrunner shift had been anticipated in Hollywood circles for weeks, since ABC and Warner Bros. TV made the joint decision to halt production on the series in order to get scripts in shape.. According to USA Today, which broke the news of the shuffle, Peters was removed from his post last Thursday..
Thursday, was a response to the show’s production problems, Peters ( The 4400 ) was replaced at the helm of the show by Scott Rosenbaum ( Chuck, The Shield ), though he is expected to stay aboard as an executive producer..
” We had a great pilot, then a couple of great episodes, but we had a disconnect on where we were going from there,” says ABC Entertainment Group chief Stephen McPherson.. Though no stranger to tinkering ( He made extensive changes to the original Grey’s Anatomy pilot ), ” I hadn’t had the experience of that before..” But McPherson accepts ” a little blame for rushing them..”
Rosenbaum, who is still on Chuck, will make the transition to V later this month..

Scott Peters, who ran V for the first episodes, will continue as executive producer alongside Jason Hall, while another Executive Producer / Writer, Jeffery Bell ( Alias ), has also reportedly left V: The New Series..
What’s interesting about some of this is that ABC hosted a big Visit by press people to the set last Monday, but Peters was notably absent; instead, executive producer Steve Pearlman spoke with reporters..
V: The New Series is scheduled to resume production in January 2010..
Rosenbaum, who also worked on FX’s The Shield, is repped by UTA..
