TVByTheNumbers.com has posted that according to an ABC press release, the numbers for the V debut jumped by +2.4 million viewers and by +1.0 Adult 18 – 49 rating point, finishing with an average audience of 16.7 million viewers and a 6.2 Adult 18 – 49 rating in the finalized DVR playback averages..
The numbers of the other episodes would surely have jumped as well.. For those worried whether episode S01E04 will be the last we’ll see, don’t be.. We’ll see the series return in March 2010..
The V Files has received a number of emails asking whether we will see the series return? And why the long wait?
Yes, we will.. There are a few factors of why we have to wait to March 2010 to see the rest of the season.. Firstly, it was always planned to be release in ” Pod “ form to treat it more like event programming.. Secondly, they want to avoid the mass lose of viewers, which will effect the ratings, due to American Idol in January and the Winter Games in February.. But one of the main reasons is to allow writers sometime to write some great scripts..
The Production team were at the same stages as the Writers.. As soon as the Writers had written part of the script the Production team finished filming it.. So the writers felt they were being rushed.. Of course thus would result in poor scripting.. This hiatus gives the Writers the time they need.. Then the cast and crew will go back into production in January..

An ABC spokeswoman confirmed that while V: The New Series will indeed premiere on the network in November, it will be just four episodes that will run during sweeps, and then not return again until March when the Winter Olympics are over..
In waiting until March to resume V: The New Series it seems that they wanted to avoid the January American Idol juggernaut and the Winter Olympics in February..
News of the show’s unique rollout comes amid rampant speculation that the Warner Bros. TV drama was undergoing a serious overhaul after news broke that it would halt production for a two – week hiatus..
Now, an insider confirms, the hiatus will extend for another four weeks to prepare for the show’s previously announced 3rd November 2009 debut.. The ABC spokeswoman says it was always the network’s intent to the run the science fiction drama, which has a 13 – episode order, in ” pod “ form to treat it more like event programming.. Thus, similar to how they did V: The Mini – Series and V: The Final Battle..
According to our source, only three episodes have been filmed thus far, and ABC hasn’t been satisfied with subsequent scripts.. We’re told that the creative reworking which was being supervised by creator / exec producer Scott Peters during the last few weeks of hiatus didn’t help matters.. Our source tells us that the next episode will lens in October and that production will then shut down until January … which would mean 10 weeks or more of production suspension.. If you know anything at all about television production, that’s a potentially costly, disruptive proposition for a network, since studio space is expensive to rent and crews can move on to other projects..
That could mean ABC is worried about how V: The New Series will perform, and may be looking closely at debut audience numbers to figure it out what to do next.. If the show under performs, ABC will be able to pull the plug quickly without expending too much producing episodes it may never intend to air.. If it at least meets audience expectations, then the network could green light additional episodes that would be ready to shoot about the same time..
When the hiatus was originally announced, back in August, it was just a couple of weeks, and Warner Bros. execs said it was designed to take advantage of the leeway from the show’s already – announced 3rd November 2009 premiere date to ” maximize creative difficulties..”
The real problem was that Warner Bros. and ABC weren’t happy with the scripts that showrunner Jeff Bell was turning in.. ( Bell was showrunner on the final, best season of Angel, so we were excited to see him working on this show ) Bell was being bumped to the ” number 2 spot “ and show re – creator Scott Peters ( The 4400 ) was becoming showrunner..

This news is actually more for the Australian fans..
Channel NINE has picked up the V series remake.. In recent times, the Sci – Fi genre has not performed well on NINE with the most recent series Fringe disappearing from the schedule after just five episodes had aired, so the experience is still raw in the minds of many fans of the genre.. The network cited scheduling issues associated with the US election that made it difficult to fast track episodes of Fringe.. Fast Tracking allows networks to air episodes of US shows a matter of days after airing in the US instead of months later.. It is not known at this stage if the V series will be fast tracked or aired at a later time, but as someone who lives ” Down Under,” I’m hoping they do..

Just letting people know about Jane Badler’s, aka ‘ Diana,’ latest movies.. They’re called Resistance and Under a Red Moon.. In Resistance, no V punt intended, Jane plays the main character named ( Wait for it ) ‘ Diana Lucas..’ Oh and even the same name.. LOL..
Plot: Actually I did a topic about this in Facebook, so why not put it here..
For the longest time Superheroes were the mainstay of Saturday morning cartoons and comic books, but thanks to recent American series like Heroes and the theatrical movies of X – Men and Spider – man the television and movie landscape has been changing, and things are about to get a whole lot fresher because Australia are entering the fold with their X – Men inspired movie Resistance..
The movie, which is a proposed backdoor pilot for a series centres on an alien invasion.. However a headmaster of a certain school catches on to news of this invasion and assembles of team made up of his students to combat the alien threat.. Each team member is kitted out with special super powered suits that enable him or her to perform extraordinary acts. The series according to producer Andrew Dillon has been described as ” X – Men meets Battle Of The Planets meets James Bond..”
Dillon shared a little information about the series with SFX Magazine about what he hopes it will achieve..
” We’ve tried to give it a modern – day look like they do with Doctor Who, where it looks like today but we see technology that we don’t use quite yet, but in theory could.. In early development we talked about making it futuristic, but it just didn’t seem to fit..”
The series is set in what maybe the near future, but for some reason the location of the school remains unknown, but there is likely to be an international flavour to the show..
” It’s an international school – as the six leads we have a couple of Americans, a British girl, one Aussie, a character from Asia and a Hispanic actor – but we don’t disclose where it is.. That’s something we may address in the series, but that doesn’t come up in the feature film..”
Lending a little bit of genre star power to this new series is actress and singer Jane Badler who is best known for her iconic role of the villainous Diana in the classic Ken Johnson mini – series V and the proceeding series.. Very little is known about the role she will be playing, but the actress did share a few of her thoughts about her roles in television series with the Total Sci – Fi website and hinted that her character in Resistance may well prove to be a handful..
” I can’t imagine I’d be playing a character who’s just a good person,” says Badler.. ” I always find myself playing someone edgy.. I believe that, as the series progresses, I might have some say in that..” She is quick to point out, however, that she is not the star of show.. In this ensemble series, one of Australia’s few major genre projects for some time, she is happy to take a back seat..
” They’ve really cast it well,” says Badler, amazed by the young Aussie actors who play the team of American, Japanese, French and Spanish characters.. ” All the cast are so sexy – as in, they’re very charismatic,” she says..
Dillon reveals that he is aiming the movie and potential series at anyone aged between 12 and 24, but that doesn’t mean that they will exclude older fans..
The show is also going to benefit from some of the best special effects available.. Andrew Lesnie and well – regarded visual effects team Atmosphere VFX will provide all the visual tricks for the series..
Resistance has also attracted quite a wealth of writing talent.. Names such as Marv Wolfman ( Of The New Teen Titans and Crisis on Infinite Earths fame ) and popular Doctor Who scribe Paul Cornell are said to be onboard with the series should it get a green light..
At present I don’t believe there is a trailer.. But will be added when available.. Until then you can check out more details here:

In Under A Red Moon, an Australian feature film soon to be released, Jane plays the main character named ‘ Anna Dunn..’

In the aftermath of this personal tragedy, they struggle to maintain their floundering relationship.. When an intruder breaks into their home, Jonathan and Anna must confront the events which have led to their emotional separation..
