Well V fans, now’s the time to polish up those acting skills.. According to Spoilertv.blogspot.com, V: The New Series is looking for an actress to play the role of Joanne Maddox, who is married to Dale Maddox ( Alan Tudyk ).. Dale is an FBI agent, who is partners with Erica Evans ( Elizabeth Mitchell )..

During the pilot, it was revealed that Dale is actually a Visitor.. How could this be? Well Visitors have been amongst us for longer than we realise.. But Joanne is clearly upset and devastated when Dale doesn’t return home and is presumed missing..

So who are they looking for to play Joanne Maddox?  They are after an actress in their 30′s.. Attractive and a open ethnicity.. Possible recurring role as a guest star.. This role is to commence for Episode 1:01 which will be filmed between the 12th and 21st August 2009 and will be directed by Yves Simoneau..

Does Joanne Maddox know that Dale is a Visitor? Is she a Visitor too? All will be revealed soon..

Alan Tudyk, who stars in ABC’s sci – fi pilot for a remake of V, told a group of reporters that the new version is what you remember the original was.. V is based on the 1980′s series about lizard – like aliens taking human form to invade Earth..

” If you are a fan, which I was and still am, of the first one, this is kind of everything that you remember, without going back and watching,” Tudyk said in a conference call on Monday to promote Fox’s ‘ Dollhouse..’ ” If you go back and watch the original V, you’re like, ‘ Oh, I thought this was great.. It kind of looks really cheesy..’ It fills in your memory as it should be..”

One of the major factors in this update, Tudyk added, is the top – notch visual effects.. ” It’s really awesome effects,” he said.. ” The effects are done by Zoic Studio’s, who did ‘ Firefly ‘ [ In which Tudyk starred ].. Zoic Studio’s does all the spacecrafts.. Anything requiring digital enhancement is Zoic Studio’s, and they do a great job.. Zoic were the masters behind the effects in ‘ Battlestar Galactica,’ ‘ Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles ‘ and ‘ Firely ‘ and their work can be seen episode to episode in ‘ Fringe ‘ ( To name just a few of the many series they work on)..” You can check out stills of their effects out at Zoic Studio’s..

” Then, of course, Morena Baccarin is in it, and she’s the leader of the aliens, so you can’t get any better than that..” Baccarin co – starred with Tudyk in ‘ Firefly ‘ and its movie spinoff, ‘ Serenity..’

Unfortunately, there is no ‘ Firefly ‘ reunion. At least in the pilot, Tudyk has no scenes with Baccarin.. ” No, but we got to hang out, and that was cool,” he commented..

Tudyk did not wish to discuss the plot of the new V.. ” I can say this,” he said.. ” It’s really good.. I hope that they pick it up..”

” I can say this, it’s really good,” he did tease.. ” I hope that they pick it up [ as a series ].. If you’re a fan – which I was at the beginning – of the first one, this is kind of everything that you remember without going back and watching..”

” Because if you go back and watch the original V, you’re like, oh, I thought this was great.. It looks really kind of cheesy..” Comparatively, Tudyk says the new version of V ” fills in your memory as it should be..”

Tudyk also revealed that the pilot’s ” really awesome ” special effects were done by Zoic, the same company that did effects work for Firefly.. ” Zoic does all the spacecrafts and anything requiring digital enhancement is Zoic and they do a great job,” Tudyk said before pointing out yet another Firefly connection.. ” And then, of course, Morena Baccarin is in it and she’s the leader of the aliens, so you can’t get any better than that..” Although the characters of Dale and Anna have no scenes together in the pilot, the two former ‘ Firefly ‘ co – stars ” did get to hang out and that was cool..”

Less than two weeks are left until we know the fate of V and whether or not it will hit the air waves!
